Welcome! Thank you for hosting a Community Mapping Party with the Utah Redistricting Coalition!
Utah’s voting maps should fairly represent everyone who lives here, and that means keeping communities united. Mapping and describing your community is the best way to show map drawers how to do their job right.
The last time voting maps were drawn 10 years ago, neighborhoods and communities were broken up by the Legislature. This time, we’re joining together to ensure that Utahns get fair districts. Now is your chance to influence the next 10 years of public policy in Utah, just by mapping your community!
Below you'll find the options to set up your event. Among other things you'll find an "Event Name" field. The name of your event is completely up to you but we recommend something such as "Community Mapping Extravaganza!"
Be sure to select whether you are hosting an in-person event or a virtual online event. If you are hosting an in-person event, include not only the address where indicated but also directions to the venue or specific room where you will be hosting the event. If you are hosting a virtual event, you will be asked to include the name of the virtual events platform you will be using. Be sure to include in "directions to event" or "note to attendees" information on how and/or when attendees will be receiving the link to join -- if you already have the link, you can include it when signing up to host the event, or you can send it out in a reminder email before the event begins.
Use the "Public Description" section to include information about the event, who is invited to attend, the organization sponsoring the event, and any other information you would like to share as people are considering attending your map drawing event!.
